Church Staff
Pastor
Rev. Shawn E. Barkley
shawnbarkley13@gmail.com

In 2003, Rev. Shawn E. Barkley was called to serve as Trinity’s Pastor. A native of Richmond, Kentucky, Shawn is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and Columbia Theological Seminary. Prior to arriving at Trinity he served as Pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in High Point, North Carolina for four years, and Sr. Pastor of Versailles (Ky.) Presbyterian for eight years.
Rev. Barkley is the proud father of Davis Barkley (age 14); is very fortunate to be married to his wife, Amy Jo, and unfortunately the owner of a poorly behaved dog named Spot (age 13).
Among Shawn’s interests are hiking and biking with Amy Jo, watching and playing a variety of sports with Davis, reading non-fiction, enjoying his friends, and obsessing over Penn State football.
In his own words; "I’m grateful that God has blessed me with such a great family with whom to enjoy life, and a terrific congregation with whom to partner in ministry."
Director of Center for Faith and Art
Ms. Candy Wheat

Candy is married to Jack Wheat and they have two daughters, Aston and Nicki. She has been involved with the Youth Ministry throughout the Presbytery of Mid-Kentucky for the past 14 years. For the past four years she has been the Director of Christian Education and Youth here at Trinity. This September, she became the Director of the Trinity Center for Faith and Art. The Center was a dream of hers and started small, with a single class called Faith Thru the Arts, a part of the church’s Wednesday evening program. Now there are classes in pottery, watercolors, drawing and classes for special needs adults and children.

Ms. Shelley Shumate

Being a member of Trinity means being a part of a family, and they have been so warm and loving to me since I came on board the staff in 1998. As music director/organist, I wear many hats and enjoy directing the adults and children's choirs, as well as the handbell choir. I received a Bachelor's Degree from Morehead State University and a Masters of Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. My husband Sean and I moved to Louisville in 1995 from Eastern Kentucky, and we welcomed our daughter Rachel in 2006.
Director of Christian Education and Youth
Ms. Linda Kennedy

My name is Linda Kennedy, and I’m the Director of Christian Education & Youth since 2008. I have had the opportunity to meet some of you after the worship service several Sundays ago, and I appreciate the warm welcome that has been extended.
I’m married and have three children - all teenagers! My background is in design and real estate, but I have spent my most recent years volunteering for my children’s schools. I look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing my goals with the many families of this church.

After Doug‟s retirement, they returned to Louisville and are members of New Song Christian Fellowship. Beth is quite happy with her call to serve Trinity and grateful to be working in a Christian environment.
